Coaching

Pick your focus

Every option is available online or face-to-face, built around your week and where you are now.

Race-specific training for the eight runs and eight stations. You get a plan that builds your engine and your strength together, plus work on pacing and station technique ahead of race day.

  • Race pacing
  • Station technique
  • Strength and running

Running coaching

Structured plans for your next 5K, 10K, half marathon or marathon, set around your current fitness and the hours you really have to train.

Personal training

Strength and conditioning sessions that focus on moving well, getting stronger and staying consistent, whatever your starting point.

How it works

From first message to first session

  1. 1

    Send an enquiry

Tell me your goal, your experience and how many days a week you can train.

  2. 2

    We talk it through

We go over your week, your goal and whether online or face-to-face suits you best.

  3. 3

    You get your plan

Training built around your real week, with strength and running balanced to fit your goal.

  4. 4

    We get started

For face-to-face, your first session can be on a gym day pass before you join.

Hyrox

8 runs. 8 stations. One finish line.

A Hyrox race alternates a 1 km run with a workout station. Training for it means building strength and endurance side by side, which is how I coach.

  5. 5Rowing1,000 m
  6. 6Farmers Carry200 m

Each station follows a 1 km run. Distances shown are the standard race format; weights vary by division.

About

Hi, I'm Wayne.

I'm a personal trainer, running coach and Hyrox coach, and I've raced what I coach: marathons, half marathons, 10Ks, 5Ks and two Hyrox events.

I call myself The Hybrid Coach because strength and endurance work best together. Most of the people I train are busy, so every plan is built to fit a real week, not an ideal one.

I coach online and face-to-face, and I train at The Gym Group in Cardiff city centre and at Hyve Gym Cardiff.
